Hotline's 2 book series was a good thing. it is a national average of prices from dealers and from farm auctions. The problem is if none of your model tractor sold that year, or if only a couple did the price could end up real high or real low...... The latter versions the past few years stopped carrying compact tactors and old tractors - they have specialized books for those now. Makes their Equipment Guide worth less tho without all the info as they used to have. If you have the Intec version, they are a little skimpier with info on each tractor, but still a good little guide to have. As you say, local conditions can affect prices for you, but many dealers go by these price guides so you will find it real helpful. --->Paul
