Sorry John, as former owner of a constant mesh TO bearing, I agree with Joe to a point.There's a teflon thingamajig spacer to protect TO bearing on some of these 85series(IH74/84 kin, not Case) that wears out. Check your pedal height spec in manual(there isn't any freeplay in this type setup). It's probable the spacer is gone and TO bearing isn't riding fully on carrier. causing the rumble until clutch is pushed and seats bearing again. It will get to a point where fingers or bearing face will wear out and clutch R&R is needed, even though disc is still good. I went back with freeplay setup where spring holds pedal and TO back like 74series so I get full usage of disc.
