it wont charge and my hair is gone

ive done pulled all my hair off trying to figure out why my to-20 wont charge i had the generator rebuilt i got a brand new vr i ran new wires (runs better now) but the thing wont charge also i had gotten info as to how to hook all the wires up but when i got to the switch i was lost the info i got says run a wire from l off the regulator to in on the switch and then run a wire to the coil from the out on the switch well my swich does not have an in and an out terminal it has starter ignition accesory and battery yes it is a universal ignition switch will it still work? and where do i hook the wires to it
