Well doing it right in one person book is differant then in another persons book. I have 3 or 4 tractors that I have never pulled any more then the valve cover, and they where stuck. All of them run good and use little to no oil other then my 1935 JD-B and it does use a little oil but it also has the same rings in it that where in it when my grandfather was useing it on the farm in the 40s. So some times you don't need to pull the head etc.
