Yesterday morning, I go out to start cutting hay and my tractor has a flat rear tire. About 2 hours and a lot of dollars later, the tire repair truck leaves and I take off for a field about a mile down the road. I get two passes and the disc mower is making THAT noise – yep, bad lower bearing on one of the pots. I get back to the house and my wife says the TV is broken. I take a look and its way beyond my expertise. I’m going to town to get a bearing for the mower so I’ll swing into Wal-Mart, grab one, and head back to the house.
I get home, get my neighbor to help me haul the TV in, and my wife says, “Guess what”.
I’m thinking, NOW what’s broken???
She says, Reva called a few minutes ago”. (Reva is my brother’s wife) “She says the lump on her breast is not cancer – they can remove it at Same Day Surgery.”
I looked at my wife, not saying a thing. She asks, “what’s the matter.” “Nothing”, I say, but I’m thinking to myself – It could have been cancer – and it could have been you.
Let’s all try to keep things in perspective around here… take a little time to laugh.
