On my recently purchased farmall 460, when I have the two point fast hitch hydraulics connected it seems to require extra power from the engine and the hyd. pump seems to run constantly even when I am not raising or lowering the hitch. For those of you who are not familiar with a fast hitch system, it's hydraulic requirements are similar to that of a three point hitch. ( the position of the lever is similar to the position of the implement) Anyway, is this a sign of a pump going bad? Could there be something hooked up incorrectly? (there are 4 ports on the rear of the tractor and I have only tried two) Would I be better off running 2 hoses from my dual hydraulics and not use this control valve at all to reduce this? I do not know very much about hydraulics, but would like to keep my original pump for as long as possible. Any help would be appreciated.
