Way OT - Evinrude motor on a house boat

I've been given a derelict 25' houseboat (fiberglass tri-hull) that has an Evinrude 50 horse outboard motor. Does anyone know where I can go (on the web or elsewhere) to find out more about the motor? I have the s/n and model number but don't know how to interpret them. The boat is a '72 and I'm thinking the motor is probably about the same age. This whole mess is gonna get sold as soon as I can find out enough about it to talk about it intelligently to potential buyers. Thanks!
