Gas up here is about 95 cents per litre (Cdn) which works out to about 2.90 per US gallon in US dollars. The refineries are about 2 miles away. Anyways, that has nothing to do with anythihg really, everyone up here thinks gas should be free. In a nutshell, it always boils down to simple economics, demand and supply. For the most part, the supply means nothing but the demand is the thing .... the oil price ($ per barrel) is set by the buyers on the world market and if the demand is there then they will bid more for the oil and on and on it goes. WE (read you and me) are the reasons for the high prices, not the oil companies or whoever else we might think is gouging us. We drive big cars and trucks, we drive places where we should be walking or staying home, etc. etc. etc. And then we see people driving $45000 trucks and cars complaining about fuel prices? That in itself is an absolute joke. The solution to any individual is pretty simple (but it's not going to have much effect). Drive an older car or truck that is PAID FOR, and then make a sincere attempt to DRIVE LESS. In the world marketplace it might not make too much of a difference, but it will to you and your family finances believe me!!!

He had told my father
