I have read about more than a few articles/ reports on this topic and ALL but this report says there is a positive energy balance. This report (written by Pimentel and Patzek) says there is a negative energy balance. I challenge you to look into Pimentel'snd Patzek's work background and see why they would be against bio-fuel. It is actually rather pathetic. Actually, in a "thermodynamic" respect they are correct. If you take into account everything, you will ALWAYS end up with a negative energy balance (2nd law of Thermodynamics, but if you were to look at it closely, you would find that the production of gas is much less efficient than the production of any bio-fuel. In other works it takes more gas to produce one gallon of gas from oil than to produce one gallon of ethanol from corn. I do not grow corn, and have NOTHING to benefit from BIO-fuels (other than hopefully cheaper gas prices). I was just amazed that the government would give an average 30% subsidy to EVERY process in the production of ethanol, just to allow everyone to break even on fuel costs. This doesn't account for machinery purchase/upkeep, land costs, employee's wages, and God forbid, any profit for farmer/fertilizer manufacturer/ethanol plant/truck driver. What happened here were a couple of scientists went out looking for a reason to discredit bio-fuels. They worked up theoretical numbers, and published them. We should ask them how many tests they have run to confirm/deny their theories. Andy

Restoration Story: Fordson Major - by Anthony West. George bought his Fordson Major from a an implement sale about 18 years ago for £200.00 (UK). There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
