Don't know why it popped into my mind, but I'll bet you'd make a good surveyor. Like my grandmother used to say, "The man at the top of the ladder gets to pick the sweetest peach". You don't just get the support and ambition from her family, but you get a lot of networking and connections with other good quality families. ..enough preaching...
