Don't have to beef up the pedal tractor if it isn't being used by bigger kids than its designed for. I have seen lots of designs for sleds, just put your imagination to work. I have one that runs #40 chain b/c the pitch length is 1/2". The math was easier to figure. It has a gear reduction and the kids run on a 40' track. They get tired by 30-35'. It works good.
