If you can get your hands on a "Rockhound" that would be my recommendation. Disk it once or twice. Run the rockhound over it and it will be a perfect seedbed.The rockhound will bust up the clods and make it really nice. Spread the seed and then roll it. Straw it and pray for rain. I've seeded several lawns doing it this way and have had good results every time.
