Good point Richard, I have seen batteries blown up by jumping 12 volts to a 6 volt battery. However, the only connection from the battery to the regulator is on the VR"s BAT terminal and theres still that normally OPEN cutout relay setting there which is electrically BETWEEN the VR"s BAT terminal and the Generator (same as VR"s ARM terminal) and its DC voltage withstand rating is far above 6 or 12 volts. Stillllllll arcing electricity can do strange things and even though in theory he shouldnt have hurt it by what he did DONT BET TOO MUCH MONEY ON IT LOL Theres other lil circuits n windings n resistors inside that VR which I agree he may have fried grrrrrrrrrrrrrr Take care, John T
