stan, what was the exact applicatiion? napa should have had a rebuilt and 2 new pumps available. rebuilts are by a-1, one line of new ones are u.s. made by airtex i think.i would probably put the rebuilt on. i have been selling parts for 28 years (not all with napa). seems like whatever brand we sold we never had a lot of problems with them. if the chinese pump was pricey at 60.00 i bet the airtex was higher yet. part of the reason they have new import pumps is because people want a new product, lifetime guarantee, but do not want to pay alot for it. when i started selling parts nothing had a guarantee for life...car parts are eventually going to wear out.most rebuilt stuff was 90 days to 2 years. now are rebuilt starters carry a lifetime guarantee. one thing i see alot more of than i used to is guys putting a part on...same problem so new part must not be any good either. had one guy who put a starter on an import truck, don't remember the brand. a week later he comes back..starter is no good , doesn't engage. we gave him starter #2..2 weeks later, same guy, same problem. i asked if the ring gear had anything wrong with it. "nope all of the teeth are fine". we got him a 3rd starter (even a different brand). you guessed it, one week later here he comes. one of my guys went to look at it. reached up and turned the ring gear on the flywheel by hand.napaguy.

Finding where and how it can be used correctly is key to whether you are using it as an "inelegant hack" or an integral solution to difficult and expens
