Crazy Thought On Gas Prices

Here is a crazy thought. Five dollar a gallon gas will be good for the USA in the long run. It will make alternative fuel like alchol and bio disel competative. It will force the majority of us to buy sensible small cars. It will make alternative car technology more atractive. Imagine if all of us drove an electric hybid cars getting 50 mpg using ethanol. Our dependence on the middle east countries would be gone, we would be free. This would be painful now but in ten years we will be laughing. We are currently fighting a war largely because of the need for middle east oil. I would rather go through the pain of changing how we use energy than continue to fight wars. The USA is the tops when it comes to developing technology so I know we have the ability. We just need to want to do it.
