I don"t think it is all that rare. The majority of them shipped to the Southern states didn"t have cabs,in fact Deere made alot of 8430-8630 tractors without cabs for the southern market. Even the first year out, the dealers around us had a few with cabs,but most were 4 post or open station tractors.My dad bought 3 of them in late 1973 and early 1974,2 open station and 1 with a 4 post. I don"t think any of them cost more than $15,000. The cab added about $3000 if I remember right.I still have the 4 post,and keep it around for a chore tractor.
