Question: If you are parked can you rev the engine and everything run fine? If so I think you are not getting enough fuel to the carb/inj. Did that on me once sitting still I could rev it up and she purred like a kitten, go driving down the road and at about 30-35mph did just like you described. Found out that the camshaft was worn were the manual fuel pump arm was at and when the motor was under a load (driving) it couldn't pump enough. I know your fuel pump isn't manual but sound like the same problem. If it don't run sitting still I agree with the others and look at replacing the dist./ and the coil.
