Mismatched Tires

How big of a deal are mismatched rear tires? I see some tractors that are in decent shape with mismatched tires and not sure if that is a big deal or not. By mismatched I mean they are the same size but different brands and tread patterns. I realize that it meant that someone didn't take the time to do it right, but not sure how much emphasis to place on it. Just curious. Thanks, Nathan
