Hydraulic Cylinder Replacement?

One of the two bucket cylinders on my JD-35 loader is not working and the shaft is bent. Rather than rebuild the cylinder, I am thinking of replacing both cylinders. The present cylinders are about a 2" bore, 24" travel and about 1" shaft diameter. Since this 1" shaft is bent, I was thinking of replacing the cylinders with larger/stronger units; maybe a 3" bore, and possibly 1.5" shaft. My goal is to not bend the darn shaft again. I'm thinking that larger cylinders would help. Will this work? Any problems with a larger cylinder? Will it operate slower? Any advice or thoughts will help. Thanks
