farmall md

i got a 1950 farmall md, with the hand clutch. one evening it started to make this horrible noise in where the clutch and flywheel is(like a rapping, banging noise) and it went away when u push the clutch in, and in the bottom of that case theres a hole, and in that hole looks to be about a 3/8in. bolt sticking out. can someone please help me out?i don't know anything about spliting the tractor. can someone please tell me how or email me any info? thank you for your help
