John, This is why I try not to get too much news off of the TV. They will always go for the sensational picture rather than useful information. I get most of my news from the newspaper and NPR (aka National People's Radio). Although these outlets are far from perfect, at least they take the time to try explain what's going on, rather than repeatedly show some sensational picture that has little to do with the situation. I remember from my days in North Carolina, anytime there was a hurricane, the networks would always report from Morehead City. Never mind if the hurricane hit north or south of Morehead, the "reporter on the scene" would be in Morehead. Why? Because at the time, Morehead City was the only city on the NC coast that you could reach via four-lane highway! It was too much trouble to go to Wilmington or Hatteras, even it that was where the hurricane actually hit.
