That's kind've a funny arguement from my Indiana politician's point of view, and somehow they're arguing with themselves about it. Here's what I mean. Many counties, mine included (Elkhart) adopted a "wheel tax", which is an annual fee ranging from $25 to up. The reason that they say was necessary is because of more and more folks going to "more fuel concious" automobiles, folks are actually using less fuel at the pump, which mean that tax revenues are down to maintain roads, so must be made up another way, a "wheel tax" for the past couple of years. However, the same politicians just recently used statistics to say fuel consumption is way up, and causes more polution. Now, I'll be the first to admit that I'm not an accountant or rocket scientist, but the two do not equate. It seems to me that it's not possible to need to put a "wheel tax" on vehicles because tax revenues are down at the pump, at the same time fuel consumption is way up but the tax rates haven't gone down. Am I just stupid, or what? My heart pumps sewer water for the revenuers, and will continue to do so, at least until they clean up their acts. Is less money being moved from my wallet into someone else's no matter how I look at it. Mark
