I think you plan to work too hard, but I've not done the water pump on a MF-65. On my MF-135, I unbolted the fan blade from the front of the pump shaft, took the fan belt off by moving the generator in, and unbolted the water pump. The I cleaned the pump mounting surface, put in a new gasket (came with the pump from NAPA) and bolted it back together, and readjusted the belt. Didn't have to touch any hoses. I didn't remove the pump just the replacable insert.
