ErinOH - you nailed it!! Plus, remember, when your son / daughter marries, there's a relationship with another family to consider. Mom or Dad-in-law's have ended a lot of good marriages by medling in matters when they should have let the kids work it out. It gives everyone tme to get to know each other. I mean REALLY get to know them. On a date, most people are on their best behavior. As most of us know, marriage is a lot more that behaving in a proper manner. Courtship involves doing things with families and building relationships - not so easy to just walk away from, which is good when problems come up - and they will! The Bible says you should "love the one you marry", not marry the one you love. That's because love is a commitment - not a "feeling". If you aren't looking for, and willing to make a commitment, then you should stay single.
