Allan Nice as it might sound, more horsepower will just burn more fuel spinning the auger on the surface. You need downpressure. Get a hydraulically driven one and mount it on the end of your front end loader. I suppose one other thing you could try would be to build a weight that could be added to the 3 point while the auger was mounted. This, however, might take a lot of weight to be effective. As far as ol' Snort, you must ask yourself two questions. First is he liable to do this again. If he isn't then he can stay and the wife is happy. If he is liable to do it again, can your wife bear to part with him? If so get another nag with a few more years and a few more miles on it so it's less likely to act up. If your wife can't bear to part with him and he's not safe to ride(worst case scenario) then sell the saddle and your wife doesn't try to ride him. Keep your wife safe and happy, 'cause if momma ain't happy, ain't nobody hapy. BTDT. John
