Bill, I had a 847. The 846 is an earlier model, I don't think there is much differance between the two. I would not get a chain baler, and not an 847. It does not pack the hay as tight as newer belt bales and is harder to pull than a belt baler. The chains are expensive to replace. Of course, if you had to replace all the belts on a belt baler they would be expensive, but usually belts can be spliced or replaced one at a time. Don't know anything about the NH 630. KEH
