Nobody has addressed the fact that you want to pull a 6' mower. If you are clipping weeds or dead stuff the 600 might be okay. If you get into any thick green grass or heavy brush you will run out of power in a hurry with the 600. If the 600 has had the loader on it for a long time you need to check the front axle pivot bushing, they would wallow out over a period of time even without a loader. You can always paint the 801 later or not worry about it if you are going to keep it in a shed. I always found a running tractor even if it was ugly much more useful than a stalled one with shiny or new paint. If the problem with the 600 is as simple as dirt in the tank why would a seller who would repaint the tractor not clean out the tank so that it could be sold as a tractor without issues? Go with the one that will do what you need to do the most and worry about appearances least, are you buying it to use or look at?
