Feeding is not an issue for two dairy cows. I have 120 acres(10-12 acres of pasture) until this year the bulk was in timothy/afalfa. No other stock. Plowed most of it under this spring and planted corn. Left about 15-20 acres of timothy/alfalfa. Not finished the first cutting yet and have 450 bales in the barn. I have a double bank barn that will easily hold the remainder. It also contains 8 hog pens in one of the bottom portions. Dad told me that they use to feed the extra milk or the milk that couldn't be sold to the hogs. He said they'd almost fight over it. As far as flies and manure, I was able to get some stainless steel bucket milkers and a vacuum pump from my Grandfather's farm, so that should be kept to a minimum. Sorry, I'm not a goat person, seems like it would be hard to keep them inside fences, and the milkers would be too large for them. Thanks again for the information.
