Positive is positive is positive. Look at the battery, & hook red to positive post, black to negative.

Battery cables on the tractor don't matter for this. Forget about that.

Coulda messed something up in the relays or generator when you hooked it up wrong, or the battery. Tho usually they can handle a short blip if that's all you did.
