Hope it 's a gas. The Diesels didn't hold up as well as a gas. They had the notorious "sleeve-and-deck" cylinder construction (all four cylinder sleeves joined to a deck plate at the top, was supposed to make overhauls easier, they made them more common, thass for sure) Not one of Deere's better innovations. This led to early failures (vibration-induced seal failure which caused oil and antifreeze to mingle). The gasses still had a "sleeve-and-deck" but they were not as prone to this problem as the Diesels with their increased vibration and stresses.
