So sorry about the poor spelling. We have many dairy farms here and each has to have manure management plan for each acre and no. of cows waste applied to each acre. They started using this cover crop about 6 years ago where they are chopping off the corn silage and wish to apply liquid manure in the fall up until Nov.1. They actually plant this crop as they cultivate in June or July and thus the crop is up and growing when the cut the silage off. Kinda strange to see all the co-ops running around with little planting devices on the cultivators. Works pretty well though and surely is helping keep the soil in balance and in place. We are just now experimenting with organic cover crops such as wheat and this to feed the few all organic dairies and chicken farms that are starting to pop up. Thus my BIL is getting his F gleaner combine for the increased acreage he hopes for next season. Man I sure do miss farmng after all the years I was involved. But the risk is so high and I'd like to try to keep at least some of what I've earned this far. Later Migraine
