I posted most of this over on the Binder Bench. My brothers girlfriends grandfather recently died and one of his sons is "taking care of things". For him this includes crushing around 100 cars, trucks, and farm equipment that his father bought over the years! I dont know what has been crushed but right now there are around 15 IH pickups and trucks mostly L, R, and S models but 2 1200s and 1 really old one that i cant identify. (Not K) The conditions of them is all over the place, but even the worst of them should at least be brought to an antique parts dealer to be salvaged for those rare parts. Others i could probably charge the battery, throw in some gas and drive away. Theres 2 McCormick Binders and 2 threshing machines that are really good candidates for restoration. For tractors there were 3 Farmall M ,4 Farmall H, and what from a distance looked like a B with the funny back but up close it was orange and was definatly not Farmall. I plan on taking as many as i can afford and my uncle thinks he wants some of the other stuff (66 El Camino, Massey combine with a 327 chevy, ?? Dodge Coronet). Now the tough part. What should i offer for this mess since it was going to the crusher anyway?

Today's Featured Article - A Cautionary Tale - by Ian Minshull. In the early 1950s my father bought an Allis Chalmers B and I used it for all the row crop work with the mangolds and potatoes, rolling and the haymaking on our farm. The farm and the Allis were sold and I have spent a lifetime working on farms throughout the country. I promised myself that one day I would own an Allis. That time event ... [Read Article]
