Hi Everyone, I've posted about my tractor in the past and I need some help again. The tachometer on my MF 135 is ruined and I need a new (or used) replacement for it. All the aftermarket part sources have every one except for the one I need and that is part number 517 105 M1. (its on page 150 in the parts book...) I ran the number on www.jackssmallengines.com and it subs to 528412M91 which again, subs to 3609808M91 for a whopping $107.01. I've called Anderson Tractor in Bluffton, and Roberts in Morning Star, OH. They don't have anything. My Questions for you all are: Can the tachometer I have be rehablitated? The ten, one,and tenths numerals disintergrated into dust. Should I get the new one and swallow the cost or should I get a used one? Who made the tachometer so I can try and get parts for it? My tractor is almost done from its rehabilition, overhaul and mechanical restoration and all I need is this part and it can come home to me. It's been gone 5 months now and I miss it! ;) (You all know how that goes...my mother is probably thinking I'm nuts by now.) Christos

What a surprise to open up your first old tractor's air filter case and find a can that appears to be filled with the scrap metal swept from around a machine shop metal lathe. To top that off, you have a cup with oil in it ("why would you want to lubricate your carburetor?"). On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
