$50 or less is what it cost me at Ames Auto Electric for rebuilding and 8N generator, 15 or 20 years ago.

I see that CT (888-8CT-FARM) wanted $91.99 outright or 86.99 with exchange for the MH-44 6 volt generator GGP4801A in their 1998 catalog. $33.99 for a regulator.
