First, Where are you at? Second ship the generator to my neighbor who owns a auto electric shop and he will rebuild it and get you a regulator for most likely under a hundred bucks. Third go to a junk yard and buy a alternator. I buy mine for tractors from a local yard for ten bucks a piece guaranteed to work. Just make sure you get a Delco one wire alternator. Fourth, if you go the NAPA route,as much as I do buisness with them they are ripping you off. They are probably paying because of the quanity the send off no more than $30.00 dollars to fix it and the rest contrary to what they say is proffit. They aren't going to help you out for free. Sorry so long, but the best option I see is buying a used alternator and going from there. Bill {Antique Acres}
