US Army 1953-1958 - Infantry - PVT E1 to 1LT 02. Joined Army Guard. Went to flight school. Activated with Guard unit for Berlin Crises in 1961. Stayed on active duty afterward. Assigned to research and development. Got to fly all sorts of "conceptual contraptions". Instructed at the primary helicopter school. Eventually went into civilian flying (airline). Stayed with Army Guard until 1989 when I retired. Altogether, I served in no less than seven US Army divisions and "visited" just about every state in the union and two foreign countries courtesy of our famous uncle. It was a hoot.
