Well i am a ford person myself.So that would be a ood choice of tractor for you.I think a ford 8n migh be too small I think you should consider a ford Naa or 600 series.They are good on gas have good power and are in the range of 2500-4000 dollars.You also have a good chance of finding one with a fully hydraulic loader.Or you could look for a ford 2000 or 3000 but i dont think you can find a good one in your price range.My 2000 is as good on gas as an 8n.You could try going with farmall an H is very good i would only give from 900 to 1000 for one.Ms are very bad on gas i dont think you need one of them.Or try A 340 or 350 farmall they have quik hitch.You have a good chance of finding a quik hitch brush hog and other things such as plow, disk,haymower,rear blade.The only john deere your going to get in that price range is a popper they aint worth a penny.You could also try a case sc very good and dependable or a dc many have 3pt hook up.Or you could try a case vac most have 3 pt also.good luck
