The mufflers on my old Farmalls a basically a large diameter shell with a smaller diameter perforated tube inside. I would think maybe you could fabricate your own perforated tube by drilling a bunch of holes, attach that tube to the exhaust outlet, and then slip the chrome pipe down over it. I did this once on a motorcycle, it did make it noticeably quieter.
