Basically, the battery was just draining while it was running. I didn't test it as much as I should have, as I was able to get a volt meter on the system and found that the voltage was slightly less after starting the tractor. It does have an amp gauge, but I am not sure if it works. It shows a slight discharge. In my ignorance I mistakingly reversed the leads on the battery not realizing it is a positive ground and later disconnected the battery completely. After reading other posts, I should have attempted to polarize it, which I am going to try when I get this back from Napa tomorrow. Any other suggestions on testing? I've read posts about disconnecting the regulator and momentarily connecting the leads together on the generator and measuring amps, but I don't have an external amp meter. Can the same be done with voltage? I think I read where it may put out a decent voltage, but can still be low in amperage and therefore be bad. Not sure how to test the regulator.
