As far as make and model, opinions vary wildly. Almost any will do the job. A 3pt and pto will make your bushog choices easier and give you lots of other toys to pull as well. Consider a frontloader, if you want to push your budget to the top end of the range you stated. Best advice is to get one that you don't have to rebuild. Since this is not a hobby purchase, treat it the same way you would a used car. Get someone you trust to go through it and understand what needs fixing before you buy it. Check the want ads in the local paper to see what is available and price range. You can cross check with the classifieds on this site to see if the asking price is reasonable.
