JAILED? What for? I use a generator and have extension cords that play into the house and hook up the needed appliances, heaters, lights etc to those extensions. I am very well versed on load or amperage to avoid overloading any of the generator circuits so why should I be jailed? Maybe you should rephrase your comment to read anyone that would connect a generator to a house circuit without having it properly installed should be jailed. In fact they would be STUPID to do so. I have been doing this for over thirty years and so far it has worked and not one lineman has ever been hurt because I am not hooked to the house in any way.
