It is down on the left side of the engine and it is electric and somewhat of a bear to change did one on my buddys 2002 3500 but it was to late as the injection pump was also shot and i had him take the injection pump to one of my friends for the rebuild that was around 800 bucks plus the lift pump . I'll stick with my 95 machanical cummins it's cheeper .
