I would suggest the IH. Not that I am such a big IH fan I do have a 77 Loadstar 1800 and a 74 Ford C700. Reasoning for my recomendation is exclusivly the hood. Monumentally easier to service a Medium Duty with a tilt hood than it is to service the older style. 20" tires will be a problem when time comes to replace them. Used ones just aren't available. Can just about get all the 22.5 and 24.5's you want but the old split ring tires just aren't out there. They look like nice straight old trucks. Value depends on a couple of things. First and foremost how popular are 300 bu straight trucks in your area. Our C700 is about the smallest at 300 bu in my area. Lots of people have gone to semi's. We paid $700 for the Ford and had to replace the box at a little over $3000, $3700 total invested. Paid something like $9000 for the IH but it has a Tag and 600 bu box. Both our trucks have long ago passed the century mark. Would guess Allen's $5500 mark might not be a bad guidline but you may very well not come home with anything just like he did. hth jt

The draft forces are
