Chris: Just about any petroleum based oil you want will do a good job. pour it in the spark plug holes and turn the engine over with the plugs out. What you want to do is lube the top end. If you want a real good oil for the job use machinists way lube. It sticks and doesn't evaporate. Don't use brake fluid. It's not petroleum and it's hydroscopic which means it atracts water. Anyone who has dealt with pitted stuck rusted beyond hope brake cylinders would probably agree.
