I have dealt with the public since I was a teenager, and there have always been "wannabes", and others who can't or won't conclude a deal. Yet, I have managed to make a living of sorts, and meet a heck of a lot of wonderful people through purchases and sales of vehicles and machinery. I'm in northern ND, and have sold vehicles and machinery as far away as CA and FL, and some stuff that's gone up into Canada. You have to get used to expecting a few crackpots, and learn to never feel too certain about a deal, until you have "cash in hand", but going beyond that, there's a lot of GOOD people, too, some of which will lead to another purchase or sale, through contacts they have. Heck of it is though, if a guy really needs to move something, for quick cash, it can be frustrating to deal with situations like you encountered. It's nice to stay in the cash position of only having to sell when the right (and $$$$) oportunity comes along, and not to have to worry about the "wannabes". I wish I could always stay in that position!
