Allen, Don't know what hydro model you have there, without the hide. There is some linkage that moves when you move the lever sideways to go thru the neutral gate, not the same spool that moves when going fore and aft. We had a 1026 that would not go forward well when warm. Sent it to the hospital and they found the linkage that moves when you shift the lever sideways thru the forward/reverse gate was worn. Replaced a couple of parts and it has been running ever since.
