Have seen somthing like that in auto parts stores,consisted of a lighter plug hooked to a 9V radio battery with an isolator diode inline. With the diode in place,the 12-14 V from the car battery/electrical system could not flow into the 9V battery,yet when you disconnected the car battery,the 9v would keep the radio/clock/computer powered up untill the car battery was reconnected.
