Yup, it"s a converted gas engine and hard to start in the cold weather. I put a tank type heater on mine, 1500 watts, and it"s ready to go after 1 to 2 hours on cold days. Based on the serial number I would say it was built 1964-66. Excellent rig for digging and good for loader work with the two pedal drive system. Parts will take some hunting but since most are Ford components should be easy to get common items. Pins, bushings, hydraulics, brakes all can be found or made. If it runs good and only needs brakes and a few hoses the price sounds real good to me even though it"s an old machine. They were well built and far advanced to anything on the market at that time. What area are you from, most were sold in the Northeast.
