I don't know about mines or what is involved in the rescue. I wonder though why, if they wereable to drill holes into the mine where the miners were supposed to be, why they couldn't connect up a big air compressor and pump air down into the mine shaft, a couple of big diesel compressors could put a lot of air in there. Maybe one of the holes would have to have been a outlet. Or why couldn't they have lowered oxygen bottles, tubes packed with food and clothes, etc. down those same holes. Or a loud speaker directing the miners to the area where this stuff was? Can anyone answer these questions for me, as I said, I don't know what I am talking about, excepet for I saw on TV what looked like well drilling rigs putting 6" holes in the ground and then they said they had lowered a small robot and air monitoring instruments into the mine. So why not other things that may have directly helped the trapped men?
