Paul, I'd find another dealer! The whole unit is only as strong as its weakest link. I have a Hidden Hitch good for 7500 lbs. and 750 lb.s tongue weight. When I build a 7000 lb. GVW trailer I have brakes on both axles, and I use a class 4, 2 5/16" coupler good for 25000lb. total. Remember, if you get in an accident and the hitch/trailer is the cause, who has the liability? Tell your dealer to get a new pair of glasses or to buy a calculator, so's he can add GVW's. Unless you buy all the weight distributing hardware, those values don't apply. Also, I would use 15" tires, the larger the diameter, the slower the bearings will be turning. I also use either slipper spring suspension or rubber ride, with a personal preference towards the springs. Like anything else, you get what you pay for.
